Description: This ordinance uses a combination of wellhead protection areas and specific use prohibitions to protect and maintain the quality of groundwater in the county. The ordinance references the science upon which it is based and uses science to support the delineation of protection areas. Included is a provision to collect fees to cover the cost of implementing the ordinance and protecting the public in the even of contamination of the aquifer. Registration, inspection, and enforcement criteria are also provided.
