About Gaining Ground Information Database
The Land Use Library is produced by the Land Use Law Center at Pace Law School, with technical assistance from Pace Law Library.
The purpose of the Land Use Library is:
1. to provide information on laws and practices in the field of land use law in a highly accessible format, thereby facilitating the adoption of innovations at the local level;
2. to enhance training of graduate students in law, environmental studies, planning, architecture, and other disciplines;
3. to provide needed information in this rapidly developing field to practitioners, local officials, and technical assistance providers.
Land use law includes laws and practices related to proper land development and human settlement, the conservation of natural resources, and the prevention of environmental pollution. The emphasis of the Land Use Library is on local laws and practices and the state and regional policies, laws, and programs that guide, direct, and enable local action.
